Sometimes I feel like you can never read enough baby books whether it be a general book about there first year of life or more concentrated books about how they should be behaving or what they should be eating. I love having these types of books on my shelves to reassure myself and to compare notes!
The Essential Guide to Baby’s First Year covers everything you need to know about your Baby’s 1st year. It covers every single month as well as eating habits, sleep habits, medical conditions, safety issues and everything in between! It even has an overview on what you should expect the 2nd year. Many of the important chapters have sections at the end that they call “Essential Takeaways” so if you’re running short on time you don’t have to read everything word for word! This book also includes some simple recipes you can make for your child as they get older.
As I was reading though the book I noticed that they tried to stay very neutral. For example they discussed co-sleeping and what the guidelines where by the CPSC and the AAP which is to *not* co-sleep but then they go on to say that regardless it’s your choice, so if you’re going to co-sleep here’s some things to be aware of in regards to safety. However the books seems to be more mainstream then attachment parenting, co-sleeping, baby wearing, non-vaccinating parents.
All in all I think The Essential Guide to Baby’s First Year is a great resource for all parents.

OK 1. I absolutely LOVE your new review giveaway questionnaire above. It's INGENIOUS. 2. I'm on my 3rd child and I still feel like I need a manual for their first years. Every year actually. With opinions and research changing every year, it's hard to keep up with the latest and greatest. Some things I did with my 9yo are taboo now so this book would really come in handy.
These books sound awesome. I would love to win them for my next baby, due in october! I feel like I've forgotten what it is like to have a newborn!
